Positive summer vibes to boost mental health

The best season of the year is, for sure, summer. Everybody is relaxed, and it is time to enjoy the sunshine. The whole stress of the year is gone with pleasurable activities. Every weekend can be fun with outdoor activities, and we can enjoy new places outside. Summer is sweet, and we can make the most of it by making a profit by progressing in our inner journey.

Coffee & Book

What is more pleasurable than reading a book on the balcony accompanied by a cup of coffee (tea or any other drink)? It can be early in the morning or in the afternoon, just before sunset. Reading helps us boost our immune systems. According to brain imaging studies, reading helps to stimulate various areas in our brain and may lower stress, blood pressure and sleep quality.

If you don’t like reading books, you can try e-books. Audiobooks are a convenient, especially when you are travelling to somewhere.

Outdoor Swimming

Outdoor swimming is the most special part of the summer. The most relaxing and healthy activity. It has many benefits for mental and psychological wellbeing. Moving freely in the water makes you feel satisfied, and the infusion of vitamin D helps to boost your mood. Swimming helps to increase sleep since the body gets tired and there is an increase in hormones in the body. Furthermore, swimming helps increase mood and may contribute to happiness. Moreover, swimming in cold water helps boost the immune system and makes the body more resistant to certain emotions. It also makes you healthier by making your body more resistant to potential threats.

Summer Foods

When I think of summer, a fresh juicy watermelon, peach, plum and many more summer foods comes to my mind. They are not only healthy for physical health but also for mental health. Here is a list of summer fruits.

Leafy greens: Spinach, kale and much more. They are rich in fiber and good for vitamin C, A and K. They help to boost the immune system and helps neurotransmitter production (dopamine and serotonin). These anti-inflammatory nutrients help slow down cognitive decline.

Watermelon: Watermelon is healthy for the body in various ways. It improves circulation, reduces blood levels and supports mental health. It helps you to keep your hydration and move all the waste from the body. Watermelon also supports mental health because it contains a significant amount of vitamin B6.

Tomato: Tomatoes are rich with potassium. They contain vitamins B and E, which help to protect cells from damage. They contain lycopene, which fights molecules that affect the immune system. It also lowers bad cholesterol and supports the heart. Research shows that tomatoes support the heart, eyes, lungs and blood vessels. If you are suffering from depression, tomatoes are the perfect nutrition to help you feel better. According to a research, individuals who eat tomatoes are 46 percent less likely to suffer from depression.

Strawberries: They are rich in anthocyanins and are good for emotional and mental health. They have anti-inflammatory properties that influence brain and emotional health positively.

Sunbath has been used as a therapy since the ancient times. It helps to regulate melatonin production and helps to fight diseases. The sunbath helps promote the pineal gland in the brain. There are also numerous benefits, such as decreasing exposure to sun rays and improving blood circulation, which help to heal skin problems like eczema.

Sunbathing is also beneficial for your mood. It helps to release serotonin. The more sunlight, the greater the chance of improvement in mood. Therefore, give yourself the gift of sunbathing in the summer.

Going on vacation

An effective way to break the monotonous cycle is to go on vacation. Changing the environment, packing up and leaving, daily hassles… What can we ask for more?
